一、活动背景分析

1. Daily Report:在英语课堂教学的前三至五分钟内,由一名(可几名)学生向全班所做的值日报告。Daily Report的话题,是在老师的指导下,学生们自己选择的与所学内容相关的知识、或幽默故事、或自己的经历、或所见所闻、或从21st century、China daily、广播或网上获得的最新消息或新闻。因此,这对学生英语水平要求较高,在初中及高中阶段的英语课堂经常被使用,目前在小学阶段则很少用。

2.《英语课程标准》把“激发和培养学生学习英语的兴趣,使学生树立自信心,养成良好的学习习惯和形成有效的学习策略,发展自主学习的能力和合作精神”放在了首位。Daily Report虽然只是英语课堂教学中一个小小的环节,但它对激发学生的学习兴趣和积极性,培养学生的听、说、读、写能力从而巩固英语学习效率起着很大的作用。Daily Report犹如奏响在英语课堂上的一段序曲,可将学生的注意力迅速拉回到课堂上,且对激发学生学习英语的兴趣、复习巩固所学内容、提高学生的课堂参与热情、发展同学间的合作意识、培养学生的听说能力都大有裨益。

3.本校是一所以外语教学为特色的九年一贯的基础教育学校,学校软硬件设施优势明显,吸引了大批生源,由此带来班级人数众多(均超过50人),这样的弱势就是学生每堂课上“开口”表达的机会不是很多,因此势必要借助某种方式弥补课堂教学的不足。“Daily Report”的活动设计完全是在此种背景下的较好补充,这为学校的长远发展、为学生英语学习的奠基起到了不可低估的作用。于是想通过此课题的研究,更好地指导小学生做好适合自身英语水平Daily Report,更好地帮助学生发展自主学习的能力和形成有效地英语学习策略,从而让小学生的英语学习变被动为主动,变缺乏氛围为浓厚氛围。

二、设计创意

1.在教学目标定位上,“Daily Report”要求小学生运用已经学过的知识进行互相配合,完成语句通顺、语境得体、表演自然地过程,这也是一个通过实践来检查学生的口语交际能力、语言运用能力等的过程。

2.在学习形式上,学生在课堂40分钟以外的时间,通过小组合作的形式,发挥自身的聪明才智,借助各种道具(如图片、实物等),整合所学知识来完成作业,是能让学生感到自己真正成为学习的主人的一种学习模式。而且,当在全班同学面前展示自己的成果并得到认可的同时,更有自信心和自豪感。

3.在作业设计上,虽然是口语方面的作业,但是因为有事先同学间互相的多次“彩排”,错误已经被更正,打消怕说错的顾虑,给了学生临场更宽松的发挥空间,也给学生纪录了学习生涯中难忘的片断。

三、设计依据

“Daily Report”的活动设计完全符合语言学科需要加强实践的理论要求。任务型教学法、情境教学理论认知理论都对为学生的学习实践提供真实的情境提出了要求,强调外语学习的能动性与主动性,改变以教为中心的教学方式而转向以学为中心。

四、活动时长及活动目标

本次活动分为四个阶段:

第一阶段:确定课题,进入“试运行Daily Report”阶段;

第二阶段:了解周围同学(可以是本校本班同学,也可以是邻居同学)完成Daily Report的方式方法,深入实际调查访问,总结交流;

第三阶段:通过录像观摩或者深入课堂亲耳聆听同年龄学生英语课堂优秀的Daily Report,找到借鉴经验;

第四阶段:精心准备下一阶段的Daily Report,谈谈自己的活动体会。 活动目标:

1.探索小学英语Daily Report教学的方式和方法。

2.探索课内外结合,课堂与生活紧密结合,有效提高学生英语实践能力的方式、方法。

3.探索通过评价机制促进Daily Report实践能力提高的方式、方法。

4.拓展思维,在真实语言情境中交往、实践。培养创新精神,让学生亲身体验语言的得体性,形成真正的语言交际能力,同时培养学生团结协作、讲礼貌的良好品德。

5.使学生在学习英语的过程中了解国外的文化,提高理解和恰当运用英语的能力,不断开拓文化视野,加深对本民族文化的理解,发展跨文化交际的意识和能力。

五、活动准备

教师的准备:

将全班分成约10个小组(编成1~10号,因为每周英语四课时,所以一个月每个小组可以登台2次),每组5人左右,一人任组长,负责协调本小组的英语活动任务,并做好相应的记录。

学生的准备:

1. 以1~10号活动小组为单位,轮流登台完成Daily Report;

2. 组长充分协调,从自身已经学过的内容里面寻找Daily Report的内容,也可以借助家长的力量帮助完成;

3. 组长从上课前的问候用语开始到本组活动结束,用时大概五分钟左右;

4. 全体学生根据这一小组的表现进行综合评价(可以是活动结束时,也可以在课后)。

六、活动过程

第一阶段:确定课题,进入“试运行Daily Report”阶段

1. 课题的确定

下课了,学生对老师说:“老师,我想做小老师,可你不叫我”。是啊,英语课堂上,老师总希望让学生多说多练,可毕竟游戏中角色就需要那几个,怎么满足得了所有学生的愿望呢?再说,本校班级学生人数众多,课堂上根本满足不了所有学生的要求、愿望。

小学生年龄小,对任何事情都冲满了好奇心,对有趣的角色表演都希望自己演一把,教师要充分利用学生的这些特点,积极创设条件,让学生走上讲台,收获快乐和智慧。于是,就和同事及孩子们商量,决定开展“寻找身边的Daily Report”的实践活动。

2. 试运行Daily Report

在布置这项作业的时候,老师邀请几位同学给大家做了一个示范(牛津小学英语5A刚学习了第一单元):

Ss: Good morning, Mr. Chen.

Teacher: Thank you. Sit down, please. ×××,what’s on the teacher’s desk? S×: There are some copy books..

要求学生充分利用学过的内容,尽可能把话说长一些,说流利一些。经过这样的示范和同学们的准备,试运行阶段在三个星期内结束了,孩子们都很兴奋,都很珍惜这样的一次登台表演的机会,准备的内容一丝不苟,准备的道具毫不马虎,同时更期待下次自己小组的表演时间。

第二阶段:了解周围小组同学完成Daily Report的方式方法,深入实际调查访问,总结交流

在进行了“试运行Daily Report”阶段后,孩子们都很兴奋,也很期待。但是老师必须对本阶段的活动进行合理地分析和中肯地评价,既要指出孩子们中间表现好的一面,同时也要委婉地提出不合理的方面,比如:有同学说错了,或者个别音发的不是很准,大家就笑话;有的小组准备的内容大部分是没有学过的,听的同学因为听不懂,就兴致全无;有同学在别的小组表演的时候不认真听,丧失了很好的学习机会;有些小组准备的道具不充分,让自己的表演打了折扣„„ 于是,大家根据第一阶段各组的表现,推选出表现较好的5个小组,然后利用班会课分别进行采访或者访问,交流出他们是如何进行活动的。

问:你们小组的准备的对话内容很丰富,也很有趣味性,这些内容是谁帮你们选的?

答:英语课本中有好多幽默的小故事,我们的对话内容就是来自这些板块,不过我们仅仅是借鉴,然后主要是经过我们小组集体的商量,整合课本上的内容而最终定稿的。

问:你们小组的道具为你们的表演增色不少,请问如果没有道具,你们也会如此出色吗?

答:我们发挥我们各自的才能,根据我们“剧本”的需要合理分工,争取让我们的表演少一点遗憾。如果没有道具,我们肯定不会轻易地“饶”过自己,所以你问的问题不可能在我们小组出现。(一片赞叹声)

问:你们的表演带我们进入到了一个真实的情境中,你们实现练习过吗?

答:既然是登台表演,我们可没有想白白损失这么一次展现自我的好机会,于是我们早在第一组表演的时候我们就开始彩排了。我们利用双休日的时间,借助×××的爸爸(是本市一名小品演员)的力量,请他帮助和指导,所以我们这一次才给大家留下了深刻的印象。

第三阶段:通过录像观摩或者深入课堂亲耳聆听同年龄学生英语课堂优秀的Daily Report,找到借鉴经验

在充分访问、交流了本班第一轮Daily Report活动的前提下,老师请同学们欣赏一些视频(初中、高中英语课堂学生Daily Report的情况),然后交流。

师:可能大家对里面的内容听不懂,但是活动的形式还是能看的比较清晰的。这

些课堂,大多数都是一位学生登台,你们认为,如果我们也是一个人登台,能否行得通?

生1:他们知识渊博,我们学的少,不大可能。

生2:不能用“知识渊博”,老师才能称得上“知识渊博”。(大家笑)不过我们如果一个人登台的话,估计说不到一分钟就会下来了。(大家继续笑) 生3:人多力量大,我们不见得会输给他们。

生4:人多胆子壮。不然我一个人肯定不敢站在讲台上。

生5:如果一个人,我们每个人估计一学期只能轮到一次,不太好。

师:大家说的意思我总结了一下,基本不同意一个人登台,那我们继续坚持我们原先制定的计划,5人一组登台表演。刚才,大家欣赏了高年级的大哥哥大姐姐们精彩的表演,他们借助了多媒体课件、图片等道具,充分展示自己准备的内容,你们认为有必要吗?

生1:刚才我在欣赏的时候,借助于这些课件和图片,我还能理解他说的主题。(大家点头同意)

生2:刚才那位大姐姐语音好听,准备的画面优美,真是一种美的享受。(大家笑)难道你们不这样认为吗?

生3:刚才看到的视频,其实和我们×××一组一样,准备的充分,就会给人以美的感受。希望我们每个人,不要浪费这样的机会,给自己锻炼的机会,也不要浪费这样的机会。

师:大家说的很肯定,都希望不打无准备之仗。那么,准备这些道具,会不会浪费大家的时间呢?

生1:肯定会的。

生2:我认为不会吧,比如:我们要准备一张食物的图片,美术课上我们就有意识的去画这些内容,既为我们的美术增添了素材,又为英语课作了准备,真是一箭双雕啊!

生3:还有,我们劳动课的手工作品,我们也可以利用起来在英语课展示。 生4:数学老师让大家准备的计算面积的图形,在交流图形的时候,不也可以利用起来吗?

生5:如果用到玩具,大家就不用准备了,我从小到现在所有的玩具都在家好好保存着呢,用到的话就跟我联系,免费借用。(大家鼓掌)

生6:我爸爸是集邮爱好者,如果有需要,我也会缠着他借来一用的。 „„

师:是啊,只要做生活的有心人,就一定会很好的利用一切可以利用的东西,而不会浪费我们太多的时间。不过还要提醒大家一下,刚才的视频中,每到最后都会有问答环节,大家想一想,这有什么好处?我们能否借鉴?

生1:主要是检查听众是否认真。

生2:跟音乐会上的“互动环节”差不多吧,可以活跃气氛。(大家笑)
