Success

On success

Respected teachers and dear classmates:

Good afternoon! My name is xxx. I’m very glad to be here to share with you my ideas. My topic is “on success”. What is success? It is defined as happiness or satisfaction derived from a goal accomplished or a purpose realized. We can also regard it as self-realization. Sometimes it is very simple. Passing an exam is success. Winning a game is success. Overcoming a difficulty is success. Abandoning a bad habit is success.

Everyone is eager to be a success. But what are the essential factors to the progress of success? In my perspective, they are motivation and perseverance. Just as the proverbs goes “where there is a will, there is a way” and “success always belongs to the persevering”. That is to say, only if you have a resolution to do something and adhere to the end, you can probably approach to the success and self-realization eventually. Otherwise, where dose success come from?

Our achievements speak for themselves. If you have a dream, what you have to avoid are your feelings of hesitance, discouragement, and doubts, and keep highly-motivated and hard-working. Then you will find that nothing is impossible!

That’s all, thank you for you attention!

success演讲稿

Many people say that they owe much of their success to the cultivation of certain good habits in their early life. In forming good habits and

achieving success we should focus on four points, that is, honesty, industry, enthusiasm and thrift.

“Honesty is the best policy.” This is a proverb to which we must pay attention. There are so many temptations in the society that with a little carelessness we may go astray. But as long as we are honest to others they will be honest to as in return..

Industry gives everyone, no matter you’re a man or woman, a boy or a girl, proper work to do. Wasting time doing nothing is to ruin oneself.

Enthusiasm is a great force. One’s soul will expand if one devotes oneself to a noble cause. We met although there are tremendous difficulties before head, we can leave nothing unaccomplished with enthusiasm.

There are many proverbs which set forth the advantages of thrift. Since we live in the world where “money is a very powerful thing”, we should always try to save a portion of our earnings for future.

These are the four keys to which we must pay attention. It is only through this way that we can achieve success.

Success

On the way to success

Good morning, teachers and my dear students,Today I am very glad to be here to share my ideas of success with you. My topic is on the way to success.

Nowadays, when talking about success, mostly the first image comes into our mind is a business man with high social status, apartment, and quite a lot of property. So most people believe that is success and all that they do is for this purpose. Yes,it’s right for us to pursue this .But as far as us ,is it the real success ?

Frankly, walth and fame are symbols of success. While,it doesn’t just mean that but to try your best.To a football player, scoring on the field is success. To a soldier, killing the enemy is success. To a saleman, saling goods is success.

No matter which kind success is your respect,it never comes to us accidentally, but as a result of continuous prepartory work.Without adequate preparations, most of our efforts would be random and we probably end up with failure.

Devotion, I think, is a key factor if we want to succeed, which means that we must concentrate our mind and effort on everything. Whatever job we are doing, we must love and be completely occupied with it. As long as we devote , there will always be harvested.

A strong will, wise thinking, action and diligence are essential when we are on the way to make it . As we all know there is a will ,there is a way, Set your goal and trace on it, make a small progress day by day, one month later it will be a big difference. What’s more, with being determined we won’t give up easily when we meet difficulties.

As Thomas Alva Edison said that genius is one percent inspiration,ninety-nine percent perspiration. Edison once tried more than 3000 materials in order to test out the most suitable one of wire.He strongly believed that although he had less talent, hard working may compensate for his deficiency. And finally, he became a inventor of the bulb.Learning from Thomas Alva Edison, we would firmly hold that industry lead to success.

There is no serect of success,if anything,it’s your ubiquitous confidence, passion that makes you stand out.So ladies and gentlemen, believe in our hopes, believe in ourselves, we, every one of us, can be a successful man!

That’s all. Thank you.

Stanford University.

BILL GATES: Congratulations, class of 2014!

Melinda and I are excited to be here. It would be a thrill for anyone to be invited to speak at a Stanford commencement, but it's especially gratifying for us. Stanford is rapidly becoming the favorite university for members of our family, and it's long been a favorite university for Microsoft and our foundation.

Our formula has been to get the smartest, most creative people working on the most important problems. It turns out that a disproportionate number of those people are at Stanford. (Cheers).

Right now, we have more than 30 foundation research projects underway here. When we want to learn more about the immune system to help cure the worst diseases, we work with Stanford. When we want to understand the changing landscape of higher education in the United States, so that more low-income students get college degrees, we work with Stanford. This is where genius lives.

There's a flexibility of mind here, an openness to change, an eagerness for what's new. This is where people come to discover the future, and have fun doing it.

MELINDA GATES: Now, some people call you all nerds and we hear that you claim that label with pride. (Cheers and Applause).

BILL GATES: Well, so do we. (Cheers and Applause).

BILL GATES: My normal glasses really aren't all that different. (Laughter).

There are so many remarkable things going on here at this campus, but if Melinda and I had to put into one word what we love most about Stanford, it's the optimism.

There's an infectious feeling here that innovation can solve almost every problem. That's the belief that drove me in 1975 to leave a college in the suburbs of Boston and go on an endless leave of absence.(Laughter).

I believed that the magic of computers and software would empower people everywhere and make the world much, much better.

It's been 40 years since then, and 20 years since Melinda and I were married. We are both more optimistic now than ever. But on our journey, our optimism evolved.

We would like to tell you what we learned and talk to you today about how your optimism and ours can do more for more people. When Paul Allen and I started Microsoft, we

wanted to bring the power of computers and software to the people, and that was the kind of rhetoric we used. One of the pioneering books in the field had a raised fist on the cover, and it was called "Computer Lib."

At that time, only big businesses could buy computers. We wanted to offer the same power to regular people and democratize computing.

By the 1990s, we saw how profoundly personal computers could empower people, but that success created a new dilemma. If rich kids got computers and poor kids didn't, then technology would make inequality worse. That ran counter to our core belief.

Technology should benefit everyone.

So we worked to close the digital divide. I made it a priority at Microsoft, and Melinda and I made it an early priority at our Foundation. Donating personal computers to public libraries to make sure that everyone had access.

The digital divide was a focus of mine in 1997, when I took my first trip to South Africa. I went there on business so I spent most of my time in meetings in downtown

Johannesburg. I stayed in the home of one of the richest families in South Africa.

It had only been three years since the election of Nelson Mandela marked the end of apartheid. When I sat down for dinner with my hosts, they used a bell to call the butler. After dinner, the women and men separated and the men smoked cigars. I thought, good thing I read Jane Austen, or I wouldn't have known what was going on. (Laughter).

{Success

But the next day I went to Soweto, the poor township southwest of Johannesburg, that had been the center of the anti-apartheid movement. It was a short distance from the city into the township, but the entry was sudden, jarring and harsh.

{Success

I passed into a world completely unlike the one I came from. My visit to Soweto became an early lesson in how naive I was. Microsoft was donating computers and software to a community center there. The kind of thing we did in the United States.

But it became clear to me, very quickly, that this was not the United States.

I had seen statistics on poverty, but I had never really seen poverty. The people there lived in corrugated tin shacks with no electricity, no water, no toilets. Most people didn't wear shoes. They walked barefoot along the streets, except there were no streets, just ruts in the mud.

The community center had no consistent source of power. So they rigged up an extension cord that ran 200 feet from the center to the diesel generator outside. Looking at this setup, I knew the minute the reporters left, the generator would get moved to a more urgent task. And the people who used the community center would go back to worrying about challenges that couldn't be solved by a personal computer.

When I gave my prepared remarks to the press, I said Soweto is a milestone. There are major decisions ahead about whether technology will leave the developing world behind. This is to close the gap.

But as I read those words, I knew they weren't super relevant. What I didn't say was, by the way, we're not focused on the fact that half a million people on this continent are dying every year from malaria. But we are sure as hell going to bring you computers.

{Success

Before I went to Soweto, I thought I understood the world's problems but I was blind to many of the most important ones. I was so taken aback by what I saw that I had to ask

myself, did I still believe that innovation could solve the world's toughest problems? I

promised myself that before I came back to Africa, I would find out more about what keeps people poor.

Over the years, Melinda and I did learn more about the pressing needs of the poor.

On a later trip to South Africa, I paid a visit to a hospital for patients with MDR-TB,

multi-drug resistant tuberculosis, a disease with a cure rate of under 50%. I remember that hospital as a place of despair.

It was a giant open ward, with a sea of patients shuffling around in pajamas, wearing

masks. There was one floor just for children, including some babies lying in bed. They had a little school for kids who were well enough to learn, but many of the children couldn't make it, and the hospital didn't seem to know whether it was worth it to keep the school open.

I talked to a patient there in her early 30s. She had been a worker at a TB hospital when she came down with a cough. She went to a doctor and he told her said she had

drug-resistant TB. She was later diagnosed with AIDS. She wasn't going to live much longer, but there were plenty of MDR patients waiting to take her bed when she vacated it. This was hell with a waiting list.

But seeing this hell didn't reduce my optimism. It channeled it. I got into the car as I left and I told the doctor we were working with I know MDR-TB is hard to cure, but we must do something for these people. And, in fact, this year, we are entering phase three with the new TB drug regime for patients who respond, instead of a 50% cure rate after 18 months for $2,000, we get an 80% cure rate after six months for under $100.

Work or Further Our Study Aimlessly

Ladies and gentleman:

Do you choose to further your study after graduation? Do you believe that you can find a good job by doing that?

Accordingto a survey of the motivations for furthering study after graduation from CNKI, some students choose to further their study mainly for three reasons: the first reason is that their parents wish them to do that; the second reason is that their classmates, friends and their lovers also do that; the third reason is that they’re not willing to work too early. I call these students aimless furthering study group because they don’t know whether the master education is useful for their future career or not. I think if you don’t know whether the master degree is useful for your career or not, you’d better go to work directly. Following are my reasons. I will analyze the disadvantages of aimless furthering study and the advantages of going to work directly.{Success的演讲稿}.

First of all, I will analyze the disadvantages of aimless furthering study. No.1 is you will waste several years to learn a major you’re not interested in. Even though you choose a major you like and you study hard, you still don’t know whether the knowledge is useful for your future job or not. In a way, you waste your precious time. No.2 is that you may waste money. We all know the tuition of master education is much higher than the tuition of bachelor. And the tuition may also be a problem for many common families. No.3 is that you may reduce your career opportunities after you further your study. For example, if you major in language during your master’s period, you may find a job of language, such as teacher and translator. I believe you may not become a sales manager or technician or engineer. Even though you become a sales manager, then your several years of master education is just for a master’s degree. I think it’s worthless.

Then I will analyze the advantages of going to work directly.No.1 is thatyou can know what job is suitable for you by trying different jobs, which may also enrich your life experience. When you find the job you like very much and decide to take on that job in your life, you can further your study, if necessary. What’s more, if you know

why you further your study, you can study with efficiency. No.2 is you can study while working. No.3 is that if your leader is willing to support your master’s education, you can even save the tuition of master’s education.

Ladies and gentlemen, I believe after listening to my analysis, you may know how to choose if you are an aimless furthering study student. You should believe that your success not depends on your education background, but depends on yourself, on your effort and competence. Come on! Be brave to make your own choice.

Thank you for your listening!

Work or Further Our Study Aimlessly(outline)

Topic: going to work or furthering study aimlessly

Specific purpose: to persuade my audience that it’s better to go to work directly than

furthering your study after graduation if don’t know whether the

master education is useful for your future career or not.

Central idea: There are many disadvantages of furthering your study after graduation

aimlessly and there are lots of advantages of going to work directly

when you don’t know you want to take on which job. Given these

advantages and disadvantages, it’s better to go to work directly

than furthering study aimlessly.

Main points: I. There are three disadvantages of furthering study aimlessly.

A. We may waste several years when we further our study aimlessly.

B. We may waste lots of money which may be a burden for our

parents.

C. We may reduce our job opportunities.

II. There are mainly three reasons for going to work directly when we

don’t know the most suitable job for ourselves.

A. We can wait to find our favorite job and consider furthering our

study which may help us learn useful knowledge with efficiency.

B. We can study while working.

C. We can save lots of money if our leader is willing to support our master education.

Success

What success means to me

What success means to me?

Honorable judges, ladies and gentlemen, I’m glad to share my point of view about success.

What is success? Different people hold different views on this question. However, it is clear to me that success means trying our best to achieve a goal set by ourselves in spite of difficulties and setbacks, which can also be put it this way that overcoming what you have met during the way to success, as well as contributing to society, whether significance or triviality.

Some people may think that one is successful if he can make a lot of money. These people hold a firm belief that almighty dollars can help them obtain what they want, thus giving rise to their sparing no efforts make money. It is high time that those whose only yardstick of success is money opened their eyes and took a sober look at the world around them.

While it is true that a prosperous businessperson may get what he wants through money, such as fame, title etc. However, as a matter of fact, he is not a success for he merely puts emphasis on the result itself rather than the journey. One example is the great scientist named Qian Xuesen who gives up the high salary and the promising future in America and pledges his determination to China then makes great achievements in the fields of astronautics while gaining glory for country, but draws a modest salary. Moreover, many other people who are outstanding in their fields do not reap momentary rewards.

In addition, some students can be a success. They put all their heart into learning English and get up early every morning and at the same time, they take all the courses and tests seriously. But sometimes they don’t get high marks? Are they losers? Absolutely not. As they have gained useful knowledge and they are content with what they have learned during the process. Their marks can be seen as a few figures on the exam paper.

Measuring success by money alone leads people to strive to make money by fair means or foul. If one’s only goal in life is to becoming rich, without serving others or making any worthwhile achievements, then one certainly cannot regard oneself as a success. Furthermore, those who scrambling for money, even though they gain much of it, are the biggest losers of all. So please remember success lies in his process of hard working and all the pleasure one gets from it. It is a journey, not a destination.

Thank you for your attention.
